Courier itinerary and delivery completion
Admin → Orders → Courier mode, or assigned courier workspace
Open the assigned itinerary
In Foody Admin courier mode, choose your assigned route from the top list, including upcoming assignments. The active route is selected on opening. The map and numbered pins are visible before departure; the timeline sits alongside it on desktop. Check the date, addresses, calculated times, contacts and instructions. Finish time, distance and duration are plan estimates; an incomplete calculation hides them. Open Total duration to read the available breakdown without changing the plan. The round menu provides account, restaurant, language and theme controls.
Courier mode executes the itinerary saved by the restaurant. It cannot change settings, addresses or stop order. The order amount appears only for cash payments; other or unknown payment methods hide it.
Navigate and contact
Select an address in the timeline or its map pin to show that stop’s actions. The pin scrolls the list without confirming delivery or changing the saved order. The fixed Navigate and Mark delivered actions target the same selected stop, whose number and address appear above under Selected stop. Check this destination before acting. Tap the phone to call or WhatsApp to prepare a message. Unverified addresses remain flagged before a navigation search. Contact the dispatcher about an incorrect address or itinerary change: the courier cannot correct an address or move a stop.
Confirm the actual result
After Start, select the delivery actually handed over in the list or on the map, check its number and address under Selected stop, then choose Mark delivered. Without an explicit selection, the next unfinished stop is proposed. After a successful confirmation, the next remaining stop is proposed, but no other order is delivered automatically. Mark arrived remains optional. A finished stop cannot be confirmed again using the fixed button. If the route was cancelled, is no longer active or the order was reassigned to another courier, the server rejects confirmation without completing the order or the other route: refresh or reopen your routes and select the current assignment. A failure displays an error and preserves remaining deliveries. Delivery confirmation does not itself collect an unpaid balance.
Check the plan and start the route
Before leaving, check the itinerary saved by the restaurant. Courier mode no longer offers Refine, route settings, Reoptimize, address correction or stop reordering. Planned departure, start and end points, handover times, customer windows and route composition can only be changed by an authorized dispatcher in Orders → Deliveries. This also applies to an owner or superadmin viewing courier mode; return to Deliveries to plan. An old interface cannot save these changes through courier actions.
Start route confirms the actual departure of unfinished assigned deliveries and moves accepted, preparing or ready orders together to Out for delivery. Finished or cancelled orders are not reopened. A preparation hold or an unfinalized weighted order must be resolved first. Failure makes no partial change. A courier can have only one active route; finish it before starting another. If a destination could not be verified, ask the dispatcher to check its address or GPS point before confirming departure.
Respond to a mapping service limit
A quota or service-unavailable warning does not mean the customer address is wrong. Known Google points remain on the Google map while their cache is valid; unverified positions are flagged as temporarily unavailable. Unavailable geometry and arrival calculations stay hidden. Ask the dispatcher to review Usage and quotas, then refresh when service returns. Retry in courier mode reloads information without recalculating or changing the itinerary. Any necessary recalculation is performed by the dispatcher in Deliveries. Orders and their addresses are preserved. Check updated times before contacting customers.
Adjust the map and find a stop
On mobile, drag the handle above the list to choose a compact, balanced or expanded view. Keyboard Up/Down and Home/End provide the same adjustment. The list scrolls independently of the fixed actions. Search stops filters by address, city, customer, phone, order number or instructions without changing the route; clear or close search to restore all stops. Selecting a pin clears the filter and reveals its stop. Fit the whole route reframes the map; + and − control zoom. Viewing another route does not stop active-route location sharing when the phone permits it.
Correct a test departure
If you start a route accidentally, tell a manager before recording any arrival or delivery. In Orders → Deliveries, a user with order-management permission can choose Undo departure while every stop is pending, then unassign and reallocate the route. Out for delivery orders return to In preparation and the replacement courier can start after reassignment. Courier mode does not offer this management correction. Previously sent messages remain in the history.
View another courier’s workspace
With compatible API and Admin versions, sign in as the relevant restaurant’s owner or as a superadmin, then open Orders → Courier mode. Under View as courier, select a courier from that restaurant; the first in the list is selected initially. You see the same map, unfinished routes and stops as that courier. Change the selection to display the new courier’s routes; the previous selected stop, search and panels are reset. Displayed actions, including Start route and Mark delivered, really change that courier’s deliveries: use them only to record work that has taken place. The signed-in account keeps its identity and its GPS position is not reported as the courier’s. Owning another restaurant does not grant this selector here; other accounts keep their own routes. If no couriers are configured, check the team roles. If loading fails, choose Retry; a removed membership or a courier from another restaurant is rejected by the server. If the owner has no selector, have both compatible versions checked, deploying API before Admin. This workspace remains for execution: itinerary settings are unavailable even for an owner or superadmin. Return to Orders → Deliveries to change the plan.
Check the courier’s live position
The courier must open Foody on their phone with their own account, start their route and allow location access. Keep Foody visible with an Internet connection. GPS readings are sent to Foody at most once every ten seconds, subject to browser updates; this frequency is not guaranteed. The marker titled Courier position shows the last received location in Deliveries and Courier mode. The green triangle remains the planned departure point. The displayed time is when the position was received; after more than one minute, it is labelled old and the marker fades. A message identifies a missing position. Courier mode distinguishes waiting for GPS, denied permission, unavailable GPS and transmission failure. Correct permissions or connectivity, then choose Retry. These states never confirm a delivery. Opening Waze, switching apps or locking the phone can interrupt web tracking: return to Foody to resume. View as courier displays the selected courier’s received position and never sends the manager’s location. Sharing GPS and moving the marker make no Google calls; map background loads and route recalculations retain their own usage.
The courier is represented by a round avatar above delivery pins, with an always-visible label. An old position retains its avatar and the Old courier position label. Initial framing includes the last received position; in Courier mode, Fit the whole route brings it back into view with the stops. GPS updates move the avatar without automatically recentering the map.
