Workflow Settings

Where to Find Workflow Settings

Workflow settings are available in two places that control the same configuration:

  • FoodyAdmin → Restaurant → Workflow Settings
  • FoodyAdmin → Orders → Settings

Changes apply immediately to FoodyPOS.

Auto Send to Kitchen

Default: off

When on: orders are automatically sent to the kitchen queue the moment they are confirmed (no manual "Send to Kitchen" tap required).

When off: staff must tap Send to Kitchen in FoodyPOS to dispatch the order. This gives you a chance to review the order before it goes to the kitchen.

Recommended for: high-volume quick-service restaurants, or any workflow where manual dispatch adds unnecessary friction.

Require Order Approval

Default: off

When on: each incoming order (especially from QR self-ordering) must be manually accepted by a staff member before it appears in the kitchen queue. Useful if you want to screen orders for accuracy.

When off: orders are auto-accepted and enter the workflow immediately.

Tips

Default: off

When on: a tip prompt appears at checkout (both on FoodyPOS and on the QR payment screen). You can configure the suggested tip percentages.

Rush Mode

Default: off

When on: estimated wait times are hidden from customers. Useful during peak service when wait times are unpredictable. Enable it manually when service gets busy, then disable when things calm down.

Scheduled Orders

Default: off

When on: customers can place orders for a specific future date and time window (pickup or delivery). Scheduled orders appear in the Scheduled Calendar view on FoodyPOS.

To use this effectively:

  1. Enable Pickup or Delivery order types as well.
  2. Set the Pickup Prep Time so the system knows when to show the order to your kitchen.

Pickup Prep Time

Defines how many minutes it takes to prepare a pickup or delivery order. This value is shown to the customer as part of their estimated ready time.

Example: if Pickup Prep Time is 20 minutes and a customer orders at 12:00, the app shows "Ready at 12:20".
