Open More/Plus on the POS. Destinations are filtered by role and device capabilities.

Select the table again after changing restaurants

On a compatible updated POS, changing restaurants resets only the screen selections: table, active check context and selected seat. Orders and checks already saved remain in their original restaurant with their contents and payment; this change does not delete, transfer or resend them. In the new restaurant, select the intended table or check again and verify the context before adding or sending food. Do not rely on the selection shown before the change. This protection requires the compatible POS; it does not prove that a particular device has been updated.

Distinguish orders from a previous table service

On a compatible updated POS, with orders.manage, an older manual order that is still active remains separately visible by its number and date. Tap it to view its own lines and total in Menu without attaching it to the table’s current occupancy. An absent or different session cannot open the next party’s table service. QR orders also retain their individual numbers and payments. Manual kitchen sends within one confirmed current session remain grouped in that session’s usual check.

A table may therefore have an empty current session and older outstanding orders: these are not the same check. Opening the view never merges, closes, archives or settles anything. Eligible saved-order actions remain limited to its number and the required permissions. If the session changes while loading, return to Orders or reopen the current table; do not recreate the order or retry a payment to bypass the error. Updating the API alone does not update the installed POS.

Distinguish the selected order from the table check

With orders.manage, an active QR or web order opens Menu with its own saved check on the right on tablets. The catalogue remains browsable without changing saved lines or a local draft. Actions manages only that order; Guest shows its own contact. View table separately opens the verified current session and, when needed, a bill choice. The frame, tabs and cards use the standard Menu presentation without an extra back toolbar. Orders in the main navigation returns to the list. Refresh and order statuses are in Actions. A failed read shows Retry rather than an empty basket. Historical records and view-only roles remain read-only. See the full workflow.

Retry an unconfirmed cash-drawer read

This diagnostic needs compatible POS and API versions; this guide does not confirm installation. A failed read does not mean that no drawer is open. The message may identify a shift or sign-in to check, device authorization needing review, an installation that does not match the open shift, or temporarily unavailable verification. Ask a manager about access refusals; Retry reads the state without repairing or moving a relationship. New cash operations stay unavailable until the state is confirmed. Preserve pending operations and local data. See cash-read recovery. Terminal deposit remains separate.

Check report currency

Restaurant information and the sales report use the saved currency returned by the API, not a POS-forced dollar. The report refuses to load if currency is missing or the information belongs to another restaurant. Check the current restaurant and its settings, then refresh; do not manually change the symbol to reconcile amounts.

Distinguish reports, cash and card deposits

On a tablet, More → Reports opens Cash drawer balance when your role permits, otherwise permitted Sales or Terminal deposits. The left rail contains only accessible sections. Choosing Cash movements replaces the content within this workspace without stacking another Reports page. Cash movements shows the session loaded on this device with date, type, amount and reason; it is not a history of other sessions. On a phone, Reports remains a destination list. Opening or refreshing a report closes nothing. Closing physical cash and the terminal’s Close and deposit remain separate actions even when both belong to the same end-of-day procedure.

If the restaurant, sign-in or terminal changes, reopen confirmation in the correct context.

Find operational workspaces

Use Home shortcuts or More for Analytics, Kitchen, Staff and Settings. Orders contains live and historical order workflows. Transactions is separate and lists completed payments for staff with payments.view or payments.manage; on a compact terminal it is in More. Reports in More contains Verifone Terminal deposits for payment managers (payments.manage). A missing destination can reflect permission or activation, so check the account/profile before reinstalling.

In Settings → Account → Profile, check the name and email of the employee signed into the POS. FoodyAdmin has a separate sign-in: changing the account or restaurant in Admin does not change the employee on the iPad. To use another employee’s passcode, finish the current shift normally, then sign that employee in with their personal code. An unconfirmed cash-drawer report must be resolved before leaving the session; Profile is read-only and provides no account-switch control.

Customize the device

In Settings choose Appearance and Shortcuts to adjust supported theme/layout and home actions. Hardware and Checkout have separate panels. Review the installed version in account/settings when reporting a problem; do not share a PIN or activation code.

Handle connectivity problems

Check Internet, the selected restaurant/device and explicit connection status. Refresh before repeating a save, kitchen send or payment. A cloud POS does not guarantee offline ordering, payment or printing; an unknown state must be reconciled before another action. Printing profiles are shared, but hardware assignments are per POS installation. After reinstalling, select the existing profile in Hardware → Printers. If waiting documents are reported, review read-only history before confirming; see printer assignments.

Browse handheld terminal pages

On the handheld terminal, the initials at the lower left open More; they come from the signed-in user’s name. The house opens the operational Overview and the receipt opens Checks. Orders, Transactions, Hardware, Appearance and Reports remain in More according to permissions; the role and assigned mode appear when available. The mode card opens its settings only with the corresponding permission. In Library, the filter opens Items, Combos or Discounts and categories remain above the items. Headers and back controls fit the terminal width. Tablets retain their own navigation and columns. The three targets stay above Android system buttons; while typing, the bar hides and actions move with the keyboard. Inside a sale, use Menu/Check/Actions and the explicit return to checks.

View terminal overview and item availability

On a handheld terminal, tap the house to open Overview. The restaurant name and collapsible cards show the availability, new/in-kitchen/ready orders and table state allowed by your role. Open View all item availability to search active items in menus available at the POS. The list uses the same catalogue as POS order entry; it does not depend on a general menu state separate from its POS availability. States are Available, Low stock, Unavailable or Not provided; a quantity appears only when supplied. Unknown availability does not mean available. Hidden groups, their descendants and combo-only components are excluded. Refresh reloads the reads; a failure displays a message and retry. Card buttons open orders or checks according to permissions. Overview reads data without changing stock or orders.

Resume work after an interruption

The local unsent basket and the server-saved check are separate. On a compatible version, reopen the draft with the same account and installation; an uncertain send requires verification or explicit resumption of its original identity. Payment, preparation and handoff remain separate, including for a split bill. Switching screens never automatically resends food.

Open end-of-day closing

On a compatible POS, More → Reports offers End of day to authorized accounts when the API advertises the feature. Tablets retain the report navigation rail; compact screens open the same flow in their single navigation stack. It brings together cash counting, terminal transmission and an operational report without ending attendance. See the end-of-day procedure.
