Discount, comp and void

Select the item or bill and open its available Actions/Options. Check whether it is a draft, sent food or a saved financial share. A paid takeaway being prepared remains active. POS Orders → All can also locate saved orders across sources and payment states; its details are read-only, not an adjustment or refund action. A missing kitchen print is not a reason to void food or collect payment again; verify the printer queue and profile first.

Availability and access

Advanced actions appear only when the installed POS and API advertise the required capability and your role permits them. Refresh a changed bill before retrying; never create another charge to resolve an uncertain result.

Keep viewed QR order lines unchanged

In Menu opened from a saved QR or web order, selected lines and the catalogue are viewable without adding, discounting, comping or voiding an item in this view. Other QR orders retain their IDs and payments. For an eligible operation on the live table check, use View table and verify the session and chosen bill; normal permissions and reasons still apply. Navigation never makes paid food editable and never refunds a payment. See order navigation.

Read-only historical orders

Opening a linked order from Transactions shows saved order details only. It does not offer comp, void or refund actions. Make changes through an eligible live check with the required permission; a food void is not a payment refund.

Apply a reduction

Choose an allowed library or manual amount/percentage discount, its scope and any required reason. Review the resulting total before saving. An item reduction and a whole-cart reduction have different bases; online promotion codes are separate. A source check-level discount must be explicitly removed before changing an unassigned sale to a saved onsite destination. The destination keeps and recalculates its own discount policy on new lines; saved lines and adjustments are not resubmitted by this handoff.

Offer or undo an offering

Choose Comp/Offer and the required reason, then review the title and scope before confirming. On the terminal, the panel identifies the affected item or check and explains the offering’s scope. Offering changes the charged amount, not food already prepared. Fees remain subject to restaurant policy; the title alone does not establish a zero balance. On a saved split line, only the selected eligible share is affected. The server checks permissions and reason and journals the adjustment. An offering does not automatically close a real check or record payment. Removing it requires permission and restores its recorded amount.

Cancel food with a reason

Use Void only for eligible unpaid food and supply its reason. Prepared/completed food or a paid/claimed fraction can prevent cancellation. For sent food, verify the cancellation result and kitchen ticket rather than deleting a draft line. Void is not a payment refund.

Wait for counter card payment before kitchen preparation

For a new counter pickup order paid by card, choose Pay, then Pay by card. Wait for terminal approval and for Foody to record the payment before preparation and the kitchen ticket start. During collection the payment remains pending and is excluded from the live order board. After a refusal or cancellation, keep the same checkout and retry there; do not send it to the kitchen to bypass payment. If approval succeeded but synchronization failed, reconcile the existing payment before starting another charge. Orders deliberately sent for table service before collection keep their existing send-then-pay flow. Any staged discounts and offered items remain part of the server-priced total used for this same charge.

Check conditional item choices

An item configured with repeated positions requires one separate choice per position according to the selected format. For example, a two-character Number Cake accepts 11, AB or A7. The format price replaces the base price; modifiers add only their configured surcharges. Reducing the position count removes newly hidden choices. Positions remain distinct in the cart, orders and kitchen ticket; review them before confirming. These customizations do not change delivery, availability, recipe, discount or cancellation rules. Configuration requires compatible versions and menu editing permission. See Variants and sizes for setup and recovery after a rejected selection.

Access item options on mobile

On the updated mobile POS, open the line and use ⋯ at the top of the item summary for permitted options, including Comp or Delete for an eligible draft. Existing reasons and permissions still apply. Done closes the panel and returns to the summary. Whole-check discounts and operations remain under Actions. The presentation change does not make sent lines editable or enable refunds.

Verify the check before a correction

Reopen the intended check or order and verify its recorded state before a discount, comp or void. Payment remains separate from preparation; a refund does not prove kitchen work was cancelled. Do not edit a basket to bypass an unconfirmed send: verify its saved result first. Use only corrections offered under your permissions. This verification creates no credit note, collection or automatic kitchen cancellation.

Review independent confirmations

In a saved order’s actions, review preparation and handoff separately from payment. Handoff review selects the actual physical units; financial splitting does not multiply them. Before closure, review the exact check or financial portion and its confirmed balance. A closed scope refuses new commercial changes; another open batch is not closed by that action. See tracking and confirmations.
